In my committee on human rights, we spent time preparing a solution in which every country would donate a percentage of its GDP to fund humanitarian efforts for the Syrian refugees. However, France would not join because of the recent terrorists attacks in Paris.  The delegate from Syria stood up and said that our theme is human rights, and therefore  we should focus on that before anything else, and further commented that we need to focus on all of the suffering of Syrian refugees.  We must figure out a way to help them rather than stereotype and marginalize entire populations.

For lunch, we went to an Italian restaurant that surprisingly served a buffet of traditional Mexican food.  As a vegetarian, I was excited to have a freshly made quesadilla with flores de calabaza (zucchini flowers), mushroom, and peppers with quesillo (a special string cheese used especially for quesadilla).
